A friend of mine is coming over to my house next week to record a guitar and a vocal track.

I have a decent external sound card (Audigy platinum EX) that has the right plugs and what not so their is no trouble there. I also have a decent microphone for vocals...

I was just wondering if there is a reasonably easy to use live guitar effects processor software. She left her amp and effects peddle in New York, so I am going to have to jack the guitar directly into my external sound card.

I figured I would monitor input with effects and record by PCM so she can properly hear herself.

So if anyone can tell me about some live effects programs that would be great.

Thanks to JACK (http://jackaudio.org/) you can connect your guitar to most sound filtering apps.
So have a great time just playing around loads of filters.

Yeah I know, i am familiar with JACK and use it regularly.

What I want to know is what are some good live effects apps...

it isn't working on my machine properly, so I ended up using Creox, which seams to work great... Thanks for your suggestion anyway...

If you use Alsa Modular Synth as hostapp for LADSPA-Plugins you can build your very own Multieffect for jack and you can controll virtually any parameter of it with a Midicontroller (Keyboard, remotecontrol-footswitch, mixingdesk - anything that can send Mdidcontrollerevents)
