I just installed Ubuntu CE 7.04 Feisty and really like it. I do however have a question. I had previously looked at the non CE version of Feisty and saw the Gnome Control Center under the System section of the menu. I thought that this was a great idea and figured that it would be included in the CE edition as well, but alas it was not. After installing the CE of Feisty I immediately got the orange update box. I clicked on it and happily one of the update options that it mentioned was the Gnome Control Center. I installed all of the updates and Gnome Control Center was not there! :(
Next, I went into Synaptic and it says that it is indeed installed on my system. I right clicked the entry in Synaptic, chose the Properties option and found a list of conflicts that listed one entry - capplets. I searched Synaptic for capplets and right clicked it for removal only to have it tell me that if I removed it it would remove (among other important items) Gnome Control Center. What Gives? :confused:
Does anyone out there know how I can get the Gnome Control Center to install under Ubuntu CE 7.04 Feisty?
If so, please please let me know. I would be eternally greatful.
Thank you and God bless all.

Hi there, I found this somewhere, so this is what I did and it works;
to activate the control center, right click on the main menu button, choose 'edit menus'. In the left column, select "Preferences" and then in the right column , check the box next to "Control Center". Now you can access the control center through System, Preferences, Control Center.

Blessings, James.
