Hello. I would just like to make a plea to everybody out there to take 2 minutes, go to Absolute Beginner's Talk, click on unanswered posts, and answer one question or at least provide a start to answer. Thank you.

Indeed, but it's good practice for regular users to do as welll. Unanswered posts are the worst.

I usually go to the last page and try to answer some from there. Then I go to page 9, then page 8, etc.

Just a question but I mean the last page is from 2 weeks ago... do you really think people would be patient enough to wait for that without bumping?

I doubt it - a week is probably long enough. I've answered my own silly questions in a couple of days.
I've been trying to do my bit to give back to the community, but what strikes me about the unanswered posts is that a lot of them aren't that noobish. People have very eccentric hardware (or just wireless or an ATI card with Beryl, God forbid), or fancy emulation or server setups. Doesn't seem like a good idea to add pressure to the fire hose in those cases - maybe the mods should move them? Then again, I'm pretty new myself.

I always check my "Search-->--Find All Threads" if I've posted a question or created a thread topic to see if anyone has answered.
I find it funny when a thread that I had started from last October or November when I was brand new to Linux, finally gets answered, like 6 months later.
And I always get a laugh because I know that I've usually figured the problem out on my own or with help from a different thread and have moved on, but it's funny to see how difficult things seemed that seem so easy now.
...As for me helping out, I usually only help if I know the exact answer or have been through the exact same issue. And also if I have links to good helpful guides, I usually give a link to them since they are the guides that were given to me when I had questions, and those guides are what helped me learn xubuntu/Linux along with the help on this forum.
