How can I install Monkey Island 1&2?

Where can I find them and how do I install them for use with scummVM?
And also, where can I find more freeware games for scummVM?

No idea where to get it, but once you have it, you should be able to just click Add Game and browse to wherever you extracted the game data (base directory of the game), it should be ready to go from there.

I managed to load the demos of Monkey Island 1&2. :)
The windows demos (for DOS) seem to work under Linux with scummVM. Like you said, it's only necessary to click on "add game" to get them to work.

However, I got an error with Monkey Island 2 (inside scummVM):
ERROR: (5:77:0x8A): room 5 not in room 5 at 0+0 in file mi2demo. 001

Maybe it's just the demo that I downloaded that's corrupted. I'll try getting it from somewhere else.
And I would really like to find the full version of the games as download somewhere...

You should look on some torrent sites. That is where I got my copies. I hear it is freeware but I am not sure it is true, so i would say its in the gray area of legality.

Try googling for "Abandonware". You should be able to find what you're looking for there...

I played through Monkey Island 1, 2 and 3 using ScummVM without any problems whatsoever. So once you get the correct files, you shouldn't have any issues with ScummVM, just add the games and play.
