Some game windows resize to small, then big again?

Hay people, I'm a new Ubuntu user. I have downloaded AA (Americas Army) and some other FPS games such as sauerbraten etc.

Now then, when i play the game AA, it loads into full screen and will run fine, however, at random, it will ocasionly resize into the corner, It is still playable, but smaller screen and very annoying, and then it will jump back into full screen,

The same problem arises in sauerbraten, however then i can't do anything, so i am forced to turn my computer of...

Any help on the matter will be greatly appreciated

Do you have Beryl installed and turned on? Or Compiz? It sounds a bit like the window manager is trying to shift desktops and only succeeding in screwing up your resolution.

A couple things that would be hepful: Kind of video card in your machine, a shot of your xorg.conf file.
