report spam <get infraction?

this is just a querie ,i was reading the resolution section and some one got an infraction for wrongly reporting spam,
so if i click on report button on a post i think is spam and i am wrong does this incurr an infraction?

people do not make a big thing of this i wish to know for my own referance nothing else.

As far as I understood it, the user was actually banned instead of the spammer. That was not intentional. Spammers have been all over the place lately, in large numbers. Things like that can happen, and all was cleared up. We do need the reports, as we cannot read every single post. Thanks for your help :)

That was my mistake. It was late at night. I clicked on the report. Usually I then click on the spam being reported and give an infraction to the spammer. I accidentally gave an infraction to the reporter instead of the spammer.

The infraction has been reversed, and I apologized in a PM to the reporter.
