View Full Version : Upgrading a Postfix/CyrusIMAP/Amavis/Apache server

Hi All,

I wanted to ask some advice on upgrading my email/webserver. As partly told in the subject, it runs Apache2, Postfix, cyrusIMAP, amavis, clam, and spamassasin.
I want to try to keep things current on the server but as safely as possible with minimal disruption to the users.

Would the best way be to do an apt-get upgrade and let it fly. Or should I upgrade each component individually? Or is there a better way?

I just don't want to have to tell the users that there will be no email for a while as I pick up the pieces of any problem.
Thanks in advance for any help you could lend.

Someone must have done this many times?

Yea... :-( Did it in Gentoo many times; every time I had problems. That's one of the reasons I may be switching to ubuntu.
