OK i know Java and C++ and around 10 other languages (although most are for windows like VB and delphi) and i was wondering since i'm really bored in the summer what it would take to help in some project - getting rid of bugs or adding new features. Would do i generally need to know - I have no idea about things like gtk.

thanks

Perhaps you could help in the Gaim project, or the wine project, or any other "Summer of Code" Open source project ^^

I think its a great idea

The summer of code project you need to be approved for, which most people will not be. I, too, would like to get involved in open source development, but I'm not sure how to. I think that is more along the lines of what the thread-starter was looking for in an answer...
