problems with steam

I recently installed steam using wine. So, it install ok, but when it gets to the setup, there is either now writing/buttons, or writing that is very screwed up. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Download this: http://www.webpagepublicity.com/free-fonts/t/Tahoma.ttf

Stick it in your fonts folder in Wine (normally ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts)

Run Steam, hopefully things will be better

Installing the tahoma font works for steam but the text and font still comes out garbled or invisible once in the counter strike menu. Does anybody know what font or other issue is causing this. its really hard to pick a server when you cant see any info. Also does anybody know how to use the nice -n -20 command for counterstrike? im missing something i think. Is nice a command to use while launching steam? or something you set then launch with regular command?

I'm using ubuntu 7.04 64 bit with the new wine that works out of the box with 64 bit fiesty

font inside counter strike was garbled because i didnt activate 'unsupported drive" installed driver and it works but screen is still tiny, any help? -fullscreen doesnt work niether does -fullscreen -width 800 -height 600
