I first wish to offer good will to Mods of these forums. They do an excellent job of keeping the Ubuntu community moving!!!! I would also like to thank them (the Mods), for I have read many of their post and they have helped me many times.

I was shocked to see the response that my original post How about a MythTV section in the Ubuntu fourms? (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=282890) created. I was further shocked when I saw a spin off post Are these forums about the community ... ot the admin's rules? (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=369924&highlight=mythbuntu) which contained a link to my original post.

As the original author of the post (How about a MythTV section in the Ubuntu forums?) (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=282890) I believe that Mods, did the right thing by closing the thread.

Why, because it's like beating a dead horse.

The mods have stated what we Mythtv users on Ubuntu must do. We need to pull support from a Mythtv developer to work with the mods of Ubuntu forums to create a sub forum.

I personally do not know any of the Mythtv Devs. "If you are a Mythtv Dev and reading this post I encourage you to work with the Ubuntu forum Mods to open a MythTV sub-forum."I believe a MythTv sub-forum would be of great help to all Ubuntu users."

I also believe that home multimedia centers are growing in popularity. Just look at: Windows MCE, AppleTV, LinuxMCE, SlingBox, Tivo, and many others. I feel that adding more media center support for Ubuntu will be need in the future. "It's just what users expect." The same way Desktop Effects were added to the Ubuntu distro. "users just expect these options"

I would like to thank superm1 for setting up the MythTV section on the Ubuntu Wiki (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MythTV). superm1's hard work on the Ubuntu Wiki, helped me a lot to get my MythTV box going.

In closing

1.) If the Ubuntu forum mods feel they need to close this thread please do. It's OK with me. You mods do a fantastic job here on the forums and "I support your decision making process."

2.) If your a MythTV Dev please contact the mods of this forum to start a MythTV sub-forum here at the Ubuntu forums. "Thank you MythTv Devs, you have a top notch app and please continue all of your hard work, believe me it's much appreciated"

3.) Do not use this thread to whine about adding a Mythtv sub forum to the forum mods. Instead add to the wiki or encourage the MythTV devs to work with the forum mods to create a sub-forum.

Personally, I use Mythbuntu, as I feel it is much better suited to PVR use than running MythTV on Ubuntu, and is much easier to set up!
There is a Mythbuntu forum here (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=301)
