View Full Version : Debian-marillat works so why don't you bring them back...

The only complaints I had before about debian-marillats was that the marillats didn't include stuff for the amd64, only the i386... but now with the release of amd64 and ia64 using in the debian repos, ftp://ftp.nerim.net is hosting the debian-marillats for amd64 and the i386 now. I have solve the problem thanks to some help from others on this forum how to resolve the gpg-key error that comes with the debian-marillats to the point that they no longer have that problem...

I have posted this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=42473) because I noticed that some things on the guide (like libdvdcss2 and a few other things) you can't get from the backports or the main universe and multiverse repos... So I feel that to make the guide back to being complete to a degree (nothing is ever complete), I think that you should add these repos back for the debian-marillat...

Thanks...
Aurora...

Marilliat is not compiled specifically for Hoary, while hoary-extras is. And the hoary-extras has everything that you need from marilliat.

Try removing marillat and using just the backports-extras (see above posts), it may be causing conflicts.

You can get a deb of libvorbis0a. Check this link:

Do you know where to get the backports source debs?

if I try the normal trick of changing deb to deb-src I get:
Failed to fetch http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/ubuntu-backports/dists/hoary-backports/main/source/Sources.gz 404 Not Found [IP: 203.16.234.19 80]

I haven't felt this sort of proprietary lock-in since I left windows.

I'm able to get universe and multiverse sources this way.

I'm sure that the exact-same sources the backports packages are built from are available somewhere, I just hope they are conveniently available. Anyone know?
