I remeber using this along time ago, and it running pretty well on crappy hardware. Does the project even run anymore, i done a distro watch search and the last version i saw was 2005 :S.

I loved that little cat.....

It was picked up by someone else and a new live/install CD was released just last month. See http://bea.cabarel.com/ for information.

Wow, this is great news! Beatrix was one of the first small but fast distros that i tried and really loved. Glad to see that it's still being developed (even if in another form) and even better news that it's based on Ubuntu! :)

I'm off to download the latest release right now.

That looks really nice. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the reminder about beatrix (I had read about it a while ago and forgot) and thanks for the link to the new BFX.

Greetings,

I have ressurected BeatrIX in its original form, in hope of finding someone to update it. There's a long story about where I've been on the update page on our new Website at http://swatsky.freeweb7.com that you can peruse.

Thanks for your time,

oskarku (Steven Watsky, the developer)

That's a pretty sad story right there >.>
Anyways, I used BeaFanatIX for a while on an old machine, and found it to my liking (with a different DE), but a bit outdated.
Hope it's revived in its full glory :D
