Thats a cool desktop! Mine is just your standard gnome in Debian/Lenny with conky script and tilda terminal.

I gave gnome on etch a try...it's rock solid...I just prefer lightweight wms I guess :)

I have to agree: Etch is simply without comparison. I was using a minimalist KDE
setup in 64-bits (and seeing some impressive performance), but now I am even more impressed
by those irreplaceable KDE-vestiges (Konqueror and Amarok =D> =D> ) and everything else
being XFCE 4.4. Now I have a desktop that actually justifies the memory footprint it uses:cool:

Is it still "non-Ubuntu" if it's a derivative distribution? If so, then here are two boring screenshots of Copland (PowerPC distribution). First release in a couple of days!

Wow, fluxbox doesn't look too bad. I was stupidly under the impression that window managers, as opposed to DEs, didn't have panels. Perhaps I will look into these minimal wm's a little more. Is that a conky script?

Yep, that's conky. I've had 2 days to work on my looks, the stock fluxbox is just plain jane blue, fluxbox has a somewhat limited panel, but you can install a multitude of things to get what you want. I just like to keep mine simple.

I was looking for a decent background to put on. I hadn't bothered to put 1 till now. It was just black. I googled " fluxbox wallpapers" and yours was 3'rd on the list. :)

I assume you meant the wbar config file. As far as apps covering it, that will happen. If you want you can install Kiba-dock, I don't think that happens with Kiba. The nice thing about Xfce is that when you turn on compositing, you don't need beryl or compiz to run Kiba. Just add kiba-dock to the autostarted apps and remove wbar. Kiba acts really funky tho, so beware :)

We have a unified desktop screenshot thread; please don't feel excluded from posting in it just because you're using something other than Ubuntu.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=965573

I post in it all the time with my non-Ubuntu systems.

I'm just closing this one because merging it with this month's thread will scramble the first posts in that thread ... as I learned the hard way.
