I wish I knew how to compile stuff for Ubuntu. I would like to ask for someone to compile SNES9X for Ubuntu. I know there are mod versions of SNES9X in the repos but they are old and besides I want to run the original SNES9X 1.50 release in summer 2006 (That's the latest version)

Thank you all for your time (I'm sure I'm not the only one looking for this)

Here is the link to everything needed

I realize that "Multiverse" had SNES9X 1.50 that I was looking for. The reason why I couldn't tell if it was 1.50 version was because the name was change to:

SNES9X-X 1:1.5-1 <--Why not just leave original name (SNES9X 1.50) Why the extra X, 1: & -1?

Why make it so confusing? The least they could do is just leave version notes and original name from were is was compile from. But instead this is what I found in the comment section.

"X binaries for snes9x - Super NES Emulator
Snes9x is a portable, freeware Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)
emulator. It basically allows you to play most games designed for the SNES
and Super Famicom Nintendo game systems on your PC or Workstation; they
include some real gems that were only ever released in Japan."

In top of that I have no way to run it because after installation with Synaptic the SNES9X won't show on my Applications-->Games Section

Now last thing HELP!!! getting it to run. ](*,)

You run it by typing snes9x <options> <romfile> into the terminal, but it's a whole lot easier if you install one of the graphical front-ends (gsnes9x or snes9express) from synaptic.
