View Full Version : gedit with terminal plugin like kate

hey guys, i was just wondering if anyone knows if gedit allows a terminal plugin like the kate program for kubuntu. The new gedit in feisty has a terminal acclerator, that pops up a terminal, but nothing i see to make the terminal visible in the bottom pane. anyone have any ideas?

Are you sure you don't have a plugin called "Embeded Terminal"? You also have to make sure the bottom pane is visible via the View menu.

To get Embeded Terminal in gedit, open Synaptic Package Manager ('System' > 'Administration' > 'Synaptic Package Manager') and search for "gedit plugins". Select 'gedit-plugins' and then click 'Mark for Installation', finally click the 'Apply' icon to install.

Once it's finished, open up gedit and select which plugins you would like to use ('Edit' > 'Preferences' and click the 'Plugins' tab).
