I am in search of the most complete SVG icon sets for Ubuntu and GNOME.
I must say I looked long and hard, but found very very few complete SVG icon sets.
It seems artists prefer to produce their own incomplete sets than contribute to a project that would achieve a complete set.
So, let's list those we found here...
Tango
SnowIsh
Tangerine
Nuvola
In my opinion, complete themes should also include icons for the most popular Open Source applications, such as Firefox, Thunderbird, Eclipse, jEdit, Listen, etc., but I know this is an enormous amount of work.

you can add the following:
G-Flat-SVG
lila
lila-brown
btw tango and tangerine are a mixture of png and svg. are you looking for icon themes that are solely comprised of svgs? the above, plus snowish and nuvola from those that you mention are 'pure' svg themes.
btw2 make good use of the "Inherits=" line in the index.theme file. what that line means is that, wjere the icon theme is missing icons, it will look in the themes that it inherits to make up a complete set. so if you can inherit similar icon themes, then it helps make all the icons in even incomplete sets to look consistant.

Thank you very much for this info!
I'll check G-Flat-SVG. I don't like the style of lila.

Human is the most complete one I can think of, but that's partially because it uses Inherits=tangerine,Tango, gnome so that when an icon is missing from the Human theme it looks for it in those other themes in that order.
