I was wondering and wanting feedback on a sub-forum idea give me the positive and negative.

I can take it.

My idea if it has not been summited before is:

Apps---->Firefox
..............>Java
...............>Gaim
...............>OpenOffice
...............>etc...

And putting all related threads together for that app period. Cuts down on server search loads. And I can learn ALL the tricks and tips to a paticular app.

I know you ubuntuians to a great job on the forum but, I still find the search cumbersome and limited. I also have problems sometimes on what to enter for search.

Just a thought! would appreciate any feedback.

And thanks again for All your hard work.

I guess it wasn't a good idea.

A large number of sub-forums make it hard to find the area you need.

A large number of sub-forums make it hard to find the area you need.

How?

Main page - Apps 1entry

Apps page anywhere around a dozen to two dozen specific apps

Click on one named Firefox. Then can have threads organized into Fixes,tricks,problems,etc..

As it stands now if I search for firefox it is a hit or miss because one the term's I use.
And also the Limiting functions of search when trying to narrow search with additional terms.

Hey if the masses or forum people don't think it is a good Idea. So be it no biggie.

It might just be me but when I get a results page from search I get all kinds of things that have nothing to do with what I am searching for.

Except somebody used the word firefox in a sentence.
