Need some advice...

I was just given an old indigo iMac G3 400 that I would like to install Xubuntu on.

For some reason it won't read any of the cd-r's I have burned - not even in OS 9.1.1 (before I wiped it by accident)

I happened to find a ppc breezy badger ubuntu install disk from ubuntu which is recognized.

Is it possible to install a minimal ubuntu install and then upgrade to 7.04? (I know I would have to edit my sources to do this)

Or would that only bring me up to the current Breezy Badger of Xubuntu - (Which I thought started at Dapper Drake)

This will be my second run at (x)ubuntu - my first attempt ended in failure after a hardware problem that prevented me from installing.

Are you holding down the "c" key upon power up? are you using the "xubuntu-7.04-alternate-powerpc.iso"? (I do not think that the LiveCD works on G3 iMac) and I am not sure if you need to but I had to do a firmware update on mine http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75430

Has anyone done an install without the firmware update?
