I am using Windows Vista Home Premium on one of my computers.
I can not find out how to backup the entire system.
I will either use DVDs or an external hard disk if it is possible.
Thanks for the help.

I'd say the best way is to clone your harddisk with something like Symantec Norton Ghost.

There should be a backup program included with Vista. Check under the Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > System Tools.
Hope that helps,

It isn't a full system backup.
I want to create a backup which will reinstall Vista too.
All MS says is that the Vista disk has all you need, but my computer did not come with one.
Norton Ghost- Designed for Microsoft® Windows® XP and 2000 operating systems only. (From their website, thanks though)

Where did you purchase your computer? If it is from a place like Dell or HP then they should have given you an actual system restore disc. If they did not then call them up and get it - legally they must provide you the disc.

Thanks. I am not too concerned with loosing Windows though. If something goes wrong, I'll install Linux.
