Okay, here's the deal. I was using Windows XP and had alot of stuff backed up to my external drive which is a NTFS file system. I need to access some files that are encrypted with EFS. Is there any way I can access them? I don't know how EFS works but I do have the user name / password that had access to these files if that will help. Also I do have my Windows install backed up to a Ghost image if I need to take anything off that. If anyone has any advise that'd be great. Thanks in advance!

You need to use the Windows image that created the encrypted files to decrypt the files. Reimage the system back to the Windows install with the Ghost image. I do not know of any tools to break EFS.
