Hey everybody!
I was wondering if there was a way to solve a "problem" that I was having in Edgy. I like to use the S-Video out to play movies from my computer to my TV at night. I usually set my sleep timer so that the TV turns off after a while. However, my computer doesn't, even when I adjust the settings in the power management applet to have the computer hibernate when my session is idol.
I think the reason why the computer doesn't hibernate is because the session isn't actually going idol while playing video. So what I was wondering if there was way to have a "sleep timer" in the power management applet. My idea for this would be to have the user to be able to enable this feature, and the set how much time the computer should be on for. After that time expires, a dialog box could appear asking the user if they want the computer to remain on. If they don't respond after let's say after 15 seconds, the computer hibernates (or sleeps).
I really hope this sounds like a good idea to other people. I'm not a very good programmer, so I can't implement this myself, nor have I ever made feature request before, so I hope I went to the right place. If anybody else is interested in this please respond to this post, Also, if I'm in the wrong place then please respond and tell me where I should be writing this.
