I have download, and install a few software from the internet, it is rpm file, and I am using OpenSuse on the computer I install the software, But I have no idea where is the software loaced after I install it, and there isn't any Icon on the K menu, beside that I just wondering is that possible to use a 10.1 rpm on a 10.2 OS? if so how?
Thanks

I've moved your thread out of General Help, since it seems to be specifically about OpenSuSE. Hopefullly a SuSE user can answer your question. You may also want to try the SuSE forums. (http://www.suseforums.net/)
Here's a quick guide to software installation in SuSE:

Look in /usr/bin for the executable name, then run it from a terminal. It should be fairly straight forward. What is it that you installed? As for the other question, as with mixing edgy/feisty/dapper packages, I would never do it. To easy to screw your system over. Better to find the source and install that way.

True, but I was comparing to something that would (presumably) be more familiar - after all this is a Ubuntu forum. The same hold true with Suse RPMs, one shouldn't mix releases. Hence, 10.1 and 10.2 rpms shouldn't be mixed.
