Hi EveryBuddy

I've just installed MonoDevelop in Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn). I'm trying to follow the Stetic GUI Designer tutorial (http://www.monodevelop.com/Stetic_GUI_Designer).

I'm stuck at "Step 2b: Creating the TextView", which says,"WE MUST CLICK THE "Bind to field" BUTTON AT THE TOP OF THE GUI DESIGNER."

But I don't see any "Bind to Feild" box in my IDE. Is this any bug in the monodevelop ide or my head ?

Can anybody tell me what's wrong ?

with regards
EverHardy

I have it, exactly where it shows in the picture... Maybe you have the focus on the whole window, instead of the text view widget?

Also, monodevelop on feisty is still 0.12. But I also have 0.12, so that is not the problem.

As of Monodevelop 0.13, "Bind to Field" is no longer needed.

Quoted from: http://www.monodevelop.com/Release_notes_for_MonoDevelop_0.13

The designer now makes use of partial classes to separate user code from generated code. The class generated by the designer contains fields for all widgets and menu actions, so those will be directly accessible from the user code (which means that the infamous "Bind to Field" button is not needed anymore, since all widgets are automatically bound to fields).
