Hi, am looking for some sort of software comparable to frontpage / adobe go live?
is there any available?

try blue fish or scream html editors, I've used them both and liked them (I'm a former dreamlinux user tho) they were fairly easy to understand and worked very well

thanks blue fish seems to be great. no problem installing it either.

Maybe ill check out the other one. I was hoping for one like frontpage where you can edit html and referr back to a normal layout and see exactly how it looks and even edit using the normal layout.

seriously....after eight years of webdeving.....nothing beats the actual browser youll use it on.

anything else and you only dealing with a second-hand-car-salesman of previews. and thus shooting yourself in the foot

having said that.....Nvu or Komposer as its now known is actually the firefox web vrowser with its UI revamped to be a HTML editor...

the preview uses (gasp) the gecko rendering library. os its the same as using firefox to preview the page
