Initially, when I set up ubuntu, I was able to watch TV using tvtime. Then I decided I wanted to play games, so I installed fglrx.

After installing fglrx and being able to play a game (Wolfestein: Enemy Territory), I noticed that I was unable to start tvtime. I get the error:
xvoutput: No XVIDEO port found which supports YUY2 image

I figure I'll be able to use tvtime again, if I undo the changes to config files that I did before (i.e. replace 'ati' with 'fglrx' in xorg.conf), and rebooted. But I don't want to have to reboot everytime I want to play a game then watch tv and vice versa.

Anyhow, how did other people fix the problem?

After seeing someone else's xorg.conf in another thread, I added:

Option "VideoOverlay" "on"
Option "OpenGLOverlay" "off"

to the Device section of my xorg.conf, and it worked :) Now I can play 3D games and watch TV without having to reboot.
