I'm not sure as my first experience with quake/quake related is Padman. I think hikaricore have some experience with that (that's the impression I get :) )
But it says on their homepage you don't need Quake 3 so my guess is yes :KS

Whitaker, usually prefer Lagavulin or Obam if I have it at my local shoppe, but Mccallans is a good standby.
As far as the other goes, yep, tell hika to go for it.
