unbutu processes

Hi everybody

I am a complete newb to boyth linux and unbutu so thanks in advance for your help.

What i am looking for is a description of the process that runs when unbutu starts, and a way to disable the one i dont need (other than kill or end them but rather disable them for the next reboot). Couldnt find anything in the help.
