Hello everyone,

First and foremost - I am new, fresh, a n00b, whatever the current word is...so I apologize if I seem somewhat ignorant or dumb...

I switched over to Ubuntu today - at whim. I was literally bored and wanted to do something cool. So yes. I remember reading (ala Digg.com) about how WINE users were getting banned from Warcraft. Does anybody know if that is still occurring? I am installing it as I speak but do not wish to get banned.

Any help would be great!

I've been playing WoW in Wine for over a year. The person that got banned and the thing that started that whole ordeal was a programmable keyboard. While Blizzard does not (as far as I know) officially support linux, they don't ban people for running WoW in wine.

A while ago cedega users had been banned from WoW due to a new path in their security system. Transgaming contacted Blizzard and not much later the users got their accounts back plus a free two months bonus or something like that. So, yes it is safe, wine users I believe were never banned.

I can't believe you made 3 WoW threads in one day...
