VisualBoyAdvance and Logitech Precision?

I'm trying to figure out why my gamepad will not work with VisualBoyAdvance - it works just fine with FCEU and ZSNES, and VBAExpress reads it to map the controls, but once I launch a game, there's no control at all. Has anyone else experienced this, or have any ideas how to go about fixing it?
