There is a really nice church that I like but the drive is too far to go every week. I just found on their website that they have a podcast: http://www.communitybible.com/this_week/podcast.html

However as you can see you have to have itunes to use it. I am not familiar with the way podcasting works but is there any info I can pass onto the webmaster to hopefully get a non-itunes feed?

Thanks,

I haven't tried any of these personally, but check this link out...it has a section listing linux podcast clients (seems like you may need a downloader as well).

Well it uses the itunes musci store protocal: itms://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=80854151&s=143441&ign-mscache=1

And it appears that the server only allows itunes clients. I guess I will email the web admin (someday) and I will lay down the hammer about how I feel about itunes. I will also throw in some words for ubuntu ce :KS

I just hope that they are not paying itunes to host the files.....

I dont believe iTunes hosts the files, but it may cache them when people are downloading via iTunes. Ask the webmaster for a standard feed (atom or rss). See more about atom and rss here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atom_(standard) and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_%28protocol%29

Yeah the New York Times does the same thing with their podcasts. You need Itunes, but they do have links to the actual mp3. But they don't have links to an rss or xml feed.

You can get to those podcasts with the instructions at the bottom of this page:
