Does this (http://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/HardwareSupportComponentsVideoCards) mean that unless I had a 64Bit processor ( which I don't) 3D acceleration is not yet possible with my 9800 AIW on Ubuntu?

3D Acceleration should work just fine with 32bit.

If you have any problems, post back and we'll sort them out. :)
