How to compile a kernel with gcc4.0? [Archive]

View Full Version : How to compile a kernel with gcc4.0?

I would like to compile the kernel(version 2.6.12 from the apt source of ubuntu)with gcc4.0,but it seems that the kernel only recognize gcc3.4. Would someone please tell me how to evade this obstacle?
