Hi. Im new to linux but Im knowlegable about computers. I recently installed the 64bit Distro of Ubuntu 6.10. I set it all up and everything went smoothly. However my graphics drivers werent rendering 3D so I followed the tutorial in help.ubuntu.com and everything seemed okay.

Upon restarting I get a "Compiling the Linux Kernel" message for about 3 seconds, and then a weird Blue screen with really jumbled characters surround it on the border. It mentions the X Server not starting. After going through and selecting okay. It brings me to the console.

Just wondering if theres anything Im doing wrong here and why this keeps happening?

Some errors I get:

NVidia: No matching Device Section for this instance (BUSID PCI:1:0:0)
Fatal Server Error: No Screens Found [BTW I have a 20" Widescreen Dell Monitor)
EE: No devices detected
