We recovered the whole, thankfully. But it have been a tedious job and alot of work, not to mention all the rewritten the howto into the new software (that works diffrently than our previous one). Well that's the reason I had used my time in updating Ubuntu Game List, but I'll try to keep up soon with it.

Thanks to all for the kind words and the support :KS

I'm trying reaching Bill to see what's up with the servers, he was talking about upgrading or buying new servers (faster and more powerful ones)...

I wondered why I can't connect to this site no more...
now it looks much better.
you just need to update it more like http://www.happypenguin.org/ ;)
good work !

We'll get a new T1 device soon, as the one we use now is very rusty an old, just try again.

We can't make such updates like happypenguin as it's not the owner who makes the game entries but the people who developed them, I only know a few game developers that contact me with updates etc. But perhaps in the future when Ubuntu Gamers Arena gets more famous *me dreaming*.

I've notice one very annoying thing about your site
if I click on any of the links on the right it will only open then in a new window, no option for tabs
and those windows have a minimal options which means I cannot even go back.
can you fix it ?

and other thing...
The promos are all look great but I would be happy if you can show more INGAME gameplay rather then just movies which gives you a very little knowledge about the actual game.

Artificial Intelligence

We'll take a look at that.

Hi AI, thanks for all your hard work... :guitar:

The site looks great, except if like me you run 1280 x 1024 (or greater) screen res' & large fonts (24) in firefox.

It still works, but can get a bit hard to read down the right hand column at times.

Anyway, its great that you got a Ubuntu sub-forum, your site will benefit greatly from that I think.

All the best...

Am I the only one who doesn't mind putting my face right up against the screen?

lol

You think 1280x1024 is bad, try reading it @ 1600x1200

Love the site but text size could use some work in certain places. It's fine in a dark
room, but the moment the lights come on it's difficult to see some text.

I often use 1600 x 1200 too!

Fortunately for me I live in a dark cave... :)

i always use 1650x1080 (not that big of a diff) and i have a LG L204WT. ****** awesome monitor and i have absolutly no problem at all with reading what it says on forums, etc. and i have not changed any settings on gamma or anything else. not changed anything in the text size in FF either... prolly just your screen that is too dark... after getting used to that ress i hate anything that is lower...

No, monitor is a 19" CRT Sony Multiscan G400, it has LOTS of settings & is not too dark. I don't have a problem with the colours, I have a problem with text sitting partially on top of other text, down the right hand column.

The text problem is not uncommon, when people use very high res' & bump up the size of the fonts. It doesn't have to happen that way, but the solution requires more site work. It may be easier these days, in the past you had to make 2 or 3 sets of pages to suit the resolution. I'm years away from the small amount of web work that I did, so, it's very likely more streamlined now...

I would expect that with the gpu capabilities & the larger monitor prices these days that there must be many people using 1280 x 1024 & above resolutions consistently. I would also expect many of them to have adjusted both their desktop fonts & their browser fonts too...

use the measurement EM. in your stylesheets....

you zoom in and the proportions all stay the same. everything, nothing looks wierd when you size up the text.
so. take a look at alistapart.com they have an article that explains it all...ill grab the link and dump it here.

That's great news!

I think it will be wonderful when all the webmasters learn about it...

I can only hope that gaming on Linux takes off soon; either because of more companies making games for the OS or because making games becomes easier for normal joe programmers again.

I can say this that there havn't been so many releases of games to linux as there are now, sure it isn't something you can't compare versus windows, but it's better than nothing.

The last few days have been amazing with the number of updates and released. I've been a very happy gamer. :)

With the lack of Vista success recently a number of computer companies are announcing their intent to support linux as a desktop alternative. While I have little to say about companies like Dell, with a big name behind the linux desktop and preinstallation of linux on their desktop machines in the near future we will see more and more developers offering linux ports as well as linux only games. It's been a long time coming, but we're getting there.
