Gnometris Rotation off?

It seems to me that the piece rotation in Gnometris, especially with the 'L' pieces is just... off. Does anyone else experience this?

I'm not sure if it's that the L pieces rotate in a different direct than the others or if they just rotate in an odd order... but something about the game feels inconsistent to me.

Am I going insane or are there others that feel the same?

It isn't the same as the classic tetris but it must have been super hard to make, you could maybe get a windows version and get an emulator for Ubuntu or you could get Flash Player for Ubuntu and play an online version, I have one that I made a while back so I will upload it to Starcube.co.uk shotly probably this URL http://www.starcube.co.uk/starcube.tetris.swf.
