xorg.conf missing

So, i was installing beryl, and i opened up the xorg.conf file, pasted the code in the screen section and saved.
Then, I opened it again. .. this time for triplebuffer. Now, the xorg.conf file is blank. What do i do?


So, what I've done is

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf_backup
gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Add to screen section
# Enable 32-bit ARGB GLX Visuals
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"

# If you are using an older version of compiz that
# does not support rendering into the Composite

Help would be appreciated.

It looks like you just made a type somewhere. Try looking for the file in the Nautilus file browser.

So, I figure out my problem. I typed x11 instead of X11

But, now I have another one.. I log in, alt + f2 type beryl manager and my screen turns green and a bit of purple and weird and unreadable. Help?

Did you set your screen depth default (Section "Screen") to 24 in xorg.conf?

no, i didn't although i probably did do something wrong with it

I tried changing it to 24, didn't change anything.

It might be helpful if i could see someone's properly configured xorg.conf file for beryl.

Btw, I'm running nvidia on a hp dv8000t w/ an intel processor.

Change your default depth to 24.

Change your default depth to 24. i changed it to 24, but changed it back since it didn't change anything.

EDIT.
You were right, i needed to change it to 24, ctrl alt backspace, then login and use beryl manager.

You should also remove triplebuffer and the DisableGLXRootClipping lines IMO.
