Not in Breezy nor Sid.
Any particular reason to backport? If not, I want to wait for inclusion in Breezy..

This update is a MAJOR boost from 2.36 with quite a few new features and bugs fixed.
Btw, do you know if the static or dynamic version is used in the current repositories?

Probably dynamic... I do whatever Debian/Ubuntu did.
I'll try to patch this one manually.

Thanks jdong :)
Using the dynamic build (OpenGL required to already be installed, basically just have Nvidia or Ati drivers installed):
http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.37/blender-2.37-linux-glibc2.2.5-i386.tar.bz2
I successfully installed this version...well actually it was more of a decompress/run situation as there is no compiling/building required.
