Hi,
I have a new iMac and would like to rip DVDs onto my hard drive. Theres arn't accually movies so it won't have any copy right thingy, they are Sales training videos. I know how to do it in Ubuntu (Much easier) bu I can't find a program that is free on apple. Anyone have any ideas?

P.S. If I install Ubuntu with parellels could I rip it in ubuntu then somehow transfer it from my VM to my iMac? Thanks

Handbrake (http://handbrake.m0k.org/?page_id=8) (also called MediaFork) is free and open source.

Ripping DVDs is somewhat processor-intensive, so doing it in a virtual machine might bog down the system.

Also checkout MacTheRipper if you want raw vob files

Hey on that program, do you know how to make it ripp the whole dvd as just one file rather than just one chapter at a time?

It's supposed to rip the entire thing automatically. Maybe this is a bug in the beta?

If it continues to fail, you could try ripping with MacTheRipper as cyberdork suggested, then using Handbrake on those files.
