Hi!
I need to use the Ubuntu logo as a .jpg (because of site upload restrictions). I'm opening the .png file and saving it as a .jpg without making any changes. The background changes to black. Is there a way to save to a .jpg and avoid having the background change?

no. jpegs dont support transparency. im assuming that the png's you have have a transparent background.

the only way to get around this. is to put the background in.

If the site accepts gifs, you could convert to that. Gif supports one bit of transparency instead of png's full alpha channel (in gif each pixel is either completely transparent or completely opaque), but if that's all you need, then it will do fine.
