How come when I try to switch to fullscreen mode in gens all it does is put a small box in the center of my screen? It will hide all the windows and just have the game centered. Shouldn't fullscreen mode automatically change the resoultion of X to make it completely fullscreen? I'm not sure how it works.

This happend to me before when i tried installing Freevo and switched to fullscreen mode...

That doesn't do anyhting. Fullscreen mode is still this tiny little box on a black screen. Many video related programs seem to do this in "fullscreen" mode. Video players dont do this but other thirdparty software when u try to enable fullscreen its not really fullscreen its just a little box on a black background..

Keep in mind, with Gens, fullscreen mode has its own set of settings, separate from the regular settings on the menu bar when in windowed mode. When in fullscreen mode, try right-clicking on the screen and see if you can change the video options to make the image bigger.

I tried that. I'm telling you i think it has something to do with X. Because another applicatoin did this before. Where "fullscreen" is nothing more than nothing but a black screen and a small box of the program's video in the middle.

I had the same problem. The solution consist in activating OpenGL in the "Graphic" menu(or the Maj+R shortcut).
