Hello,
Before I begin asking the questions, it's a good idea to know how I acquired a copy of UBUNTU Linux. It was given to a relative of mine while he was traveling, he was apparently ranting about windows and they gave him this CD. I'm on the verge of redoing my PC (Entirely, my processor is so old it's starting to hack up.... I should probably put it down) and I was debating whether to do a Dual OS Windows XP and Linux setup. I know Linux is great for Business, but I haven't heard much on the gaming aspect.
How stable is Linux in running PC games, of any kind? Most of the Games I have are PC Native, let me give you a few Examples:
Myst Online: URU live (Bloody awesome, it's finally released. Get a Subscription, (Myst Online Site (http://www.gametap.com/home/myst/index.html)) Now!)
Papyrus' Nascar Season 2003, and their new Version coming out (In the BETA, awaiting approval)
MS Flight Simulator X
Sims 2
I also run Alpha 5v8, a powerful database program. Does anyone know of any issues with A5?
That's really all I use my PC for, I also run Firefox (Death to IE!), and Compuserve Email Service. So I'll bullet point what I would like to have answered:
What is the Best software to run Dual OS'?
Do any of the Above Games have issues running on UBUNTU?
Do Alpha 5, Compuserve, or Firefox have any issues?
What is a good setup for a Linux Tower? (Should I go out and buy the best equipment I can, I know I want a DC Processor)
Thanks,8-[
