I have recently put Ubuntu on a couple of friends computers and they are always asking me questions. One friend brought up the idea that I should start a podcast for the ultimate beginners that just talked about different programs and how they compared to a windows version. I realize there is a Ubuntu podcats, but have been told by a few that it is a bit techy at times as the people I have tlked to just want to know about programs with out getting to technical. I realize there are lots of Linux programs, but I would concentrate on just Ubuntu as that is what I use and have installed for others. My main question is if there would be any type of concern in the community if there was a podcast about Ubuntu. I have not come up with a name for I am not sure if I am going to do it for I have no idea of where to even start. It does sound like a lot of fun though.

I am just basically wondering if I need permission to use the word Ubuntu in a podcast or have a podcast about Ubuntu. I will link to everything I talk about. This will be the most basic of podcasts that talk about and try to help VERY new users.

I would say doubt it, the main reason i doubt is it's free-licensing and being that's open source software, but still should maybe contact people higher up in the chain, just to let them know.

I have emailed the producers of the Ubuntu podcasts about it. I have not heard, so I presume everything is OK.
I will put a link in here when I have a episode up
