Let me start off with apologizing for putting my post here, but I didn't know where else to put it. I ordered a mac mini off the apple website on the 27th of January this year, and received it on the 7th of February, took forever in my opinion, and all I had changed was the ram so its pretty much stock. Anyways, the day I receive it, I hook it up to my 37 inch Vizio tv using a dvi to hdmi cable, and it presto, it works, not well, but I can see the damn thing on my tv.
My only problem at this point is the fact that the screen size isn't set to the correct resolution. So I do what everybody at 123macmini or macmini123 (one or the other) suggest and install SWITCHRESX. This program is supposed to let me change the screen resolution. Well, I install above program and switch my resolution.
I then proceed to restart the mini. The mini goes through its boot process, and the sweet sound of it chiming rings throughout my room, but my screen is blue why? Well, I switched to my Samsung Monitor, and it worked fine. So head on to the apple support site. I try everything on their website but nothing, in fact, the mini seems to act funnier. What I mean by this is that it'll start up, LED and all, but no chime. Then the LED won't start, but the fan(dont know which one) starts up, and its really loud. Weird! I immediately contact apple techs and begin troubleshooting with them but to no avail. They tell me to take it in to COMPUSA.
COMPUSA a huge fuc*ing mistake! I bring it in, and explain the problem to the tech. Complete MORON... 5 days later I receive a voice message saying something like such "Hey Mario, this is (compusa employee) from Compusa and your computer(its a freaking mini) is ready for pick up, nothing is wrong with, it past (not passed but PAST) the diagnostic test 100%. Not even 30 minutes later I receive another phone call from the same guy saying that they had to order a motherboard.
Needless to say, 19 days later, I tried calling COMPUSA's tech support, but nothing, so I call the floor manager, and explain to her, that I can't reach any of their techs. She transfers me and somebody finally answers. "Sir, MIKE is currently assisting another customer, would you like to leave your name and a number where you could be reached? I give this rat my info and nothing.
Day 20, I finally lose it. I was at a 9 Mil range all damn day, and the last thing I want is to put up with Bull$h*t, especially phone games. I drive down to Compusa, and asked what the status on my mini was. They tell me, Well sir we are still waiting on the motherboard from Apple. So I look at the guy and tell him to give me my damn mini right now and that I'll contact Apple myself.
I spend an entire hour of my life with Apple Reps and get no where. I pretty much explained to them what had happened and that Compusa even damaged the bottom trying to pry it open with a screwdriver. I tell them, that I want them to fix it for me, and they say, well sir, you need to bring it in to compusa or an apple store. I tell them, that I've blacklisted Compusa and that the Apple store is an hour and a half away, I asked if they could guarantee that they will fix it, and they replied "NO". So I tell them, "Well, I want to return their product and get my money back. They said I couldn't do that because I damaged the mini with that third party software that I mentioned earlier.
They later tell me that my best bet would to go back to Compusa and have them fix my mini. So now, I have to crawl back to Compusa and ask them to fix my mini. What should I do. I feel really disappointed with Apple at this point. How can a company like that do this. They quickly repaired my ipod, never had any problems. Hell, I even own Apple stock. What should I do, anybody, what? I've owned this mini for 23 days, and its been getting "fixed" for 20. ****!
