Microsoft is a little worse, but if the roles were reversed, Apple would be just as bad. In fact, Apple will probably be just as bad in future.

Apple actually have an "open-source" project which can't even be built without closed-source modules, becomes proprietry every so often, and has no public access to the bug tracker; where submitted bug-fixes can take 2 years to get into the release version.

Microsoft is currently doing worse things than Apple. I hold out hope that Apple finds a better way, and the recent call to end DRM gives me some hope, but they have to earn my trust. As of right now, I avoid their products.

Both companies exist to make money and both want you to be either part of the "windows universe" or the "mac universe" ...

lets compare ....

.NET Account:MS .Mac Account:Apple
Zune/Zune Market Place:MS iPod/iTunes:Apple
Media Center:MS Media Center:Apple
Vista:MS OS X:Apple
....etc.

I can't remember everything but those are a few examples that I came up with off the top of my head but basically what it comes down to is that both companies want to suck you in, both companies have their follies with their proprietary this or that but at the end of the day, if I were to spend my money I would buy a Mac .... I don't mind paying money for good software or just products in general. Is microsoft horrible? ... yes, no ... maybe so. They are out to make money and they do so with efficiency, nobody can deny them that. Do I use any MS products? sure, I own a xbox because its fun and because I don't hate MS ... I use linux because i prefer it as my personal choice of OS.

Corporations are evil in general, it's their nature to make money and succeed and they generally don't care how the money is made. But at the end of the day I think Apple is the lesser of two evils because they produce good products (or atleast better products)

</rant>

.... that's just my opinion, take it for what you will :)

Based on what I have heard about Vista I do not support Microsoft.. recently picking a macbook as a graduation present, and installing Ubuntu on my desktop (completely removing windows).

Abercrombie or Gap?

Abercrombie and Microsoft. I know Abercrombie has a dubious relationship with young boys, but the jury is still out on Microsoft. :lolflag:
