Dear Ubuntu people
I just wanted to ask: Will Kubuntu ALWAYS have ONLY KDE apps?
Wouldn't it be better if it had Gaim, Firefox and GIMP too?
I know they can be downloaded but it will be easier for those with
slow internet connections.
Best regards

well, there's only so much you can fit on 1 CD, and KDE is rather bulky. At one point (correct me if i'm wrong) there was a plan, or is an image, for a KDE DVD image that included a bunch of goodies \\:D/

can't everything be downloaded with synaptic, via the main archive or the universe, multiverse libraries?

I have the DVD image. It has a massive heap of stuff. I still need to do downloads every now and then, but Gaim, Firefox and GIMP were definitely on the DVD.
You should get it.
Now. :-)
