Hi,

I am new to kubuntu. I have an AMD64 computer and Epson DX4850 and Lexmark E320 printers. When I used Suse10.1 they were working well. I can scan using Sane with DX4850 without any problems. I cannot print properly with DX4850, the colors are displaced on the printer test page generated by Cups v1.2.x. I cannot install Lexmark using Cups, the software claims that I have a Canon. What am I to do to install the laser printer?

I want to listen to radios and especially the www.naxosradio.com. So using Firefox, I open their web page and try to listen to them. Data is coming to my computer but no sound is coming out of the speakers. The speakers are not muted and wired correctly. It has the same configuration when I used SuSe10.1. What is missing?

Many thanks for the help.

I don't know what is wrong, but at least I can tell you that it is possible because it is working for me. I went to naxosradio, clicked on a link to play something, mplayer popped up, and the sound started coming out of my speakers.

It sounds to me as though the problem is with your sound system. Does it work in other programs? If you play a CD or if you run Rhythmbox or VLC or some other audio program, do you get sound? If not, I would suggest doing a search on the Forums for "sound" or something like that. I have seen occasional posts by others here about sound issues and their solutions.

Personally, I use Mike's Radio World (http://www.mikesradioworld.com/index.html) to find free radio stations. I play them in RealPlayer because it can save a list of bookmarks for my favorites.
