Until I get my TV tuner back I am using a sony dvd recorder to record my TV shows. I found the program vobcopy that extracts the video files, extracts an mpeg video and an AC3 audio out of them and then combines them back into an .mpg
I have no mpeg editor in Ubuntu so I came in Windows and opened up Roxio Easy Media Creator 7. I imported the file but when I play it the sound goes but the video doesn't move at all. Also when I open up the mpg file in windows media player 11 it won't do anything. In fact in the file browser it says it is 0 seconds which I know is wrong.
Now if I go open Democracy Player I can play the mpg in there with no problems. The problem is though I cannot get it edited. I have also tried Windows Movie Maker but while it puts all the clips in there when i play it it does nothing just like WMP11.
I have a codec pack of ffdshow video and audio codecs installed.
Anyone know to fix this annoying issue, because I am gonig to have to be recording my shows like this for about 2 weeks.
