Can't apt-get install lilo lilo-doc

Hi,

I am trying to install Ubuntu 6.10 on my macbook.. I up to a point to where I need to apt-get
install lilo lilo-doc and I get the following error

Package lilo is not available, but is referred by another package. This may mean
that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available form another source.

I can browse the web so it's not a network issue I believe. Is there a way I can test
that apt-get is working or not.

Fixed it.. Just did a apt-get update first.
