Can any one tell me if there is a card game for ubuntu that has bridge in it?
I have looked everywhere I know to look and can not find bridge. I have set up a ubuntu box for a friend at work who is fedup with windows. His mother uses it during the day and this is all she does. I think if I can get this working then he will switch over more of his computers.

Thanks
Teddy

Try "floater". It is an internet bridge game in the repositories.

She can play bridge online on Yahoo! Games. It's a Java applet so it will work on Linux if you install the Java plugin for Firefox.

She does not like yahoo because people join and quit games to often. I loaded floater and put an icon on the desk top. But I don't think she will like that either.
Are the any bridge games that she can play against the computer or by her self?

Thanks
Teddy

the MSN Zone had a very good bridge room but I don't know if it can be used on a linux machine.

After a brief search on the net I found only a commercial game at http://www.xcontractbridge.com/xbridge.htm

If any of you knows of any Open Source Project (even in development phase) please post. I would like to help such an endeavour.

I'm surprised that there isn't an open source bridge client already. I'd think that would be relatively easy to do. The hardest part would be having an AI capable of playing somewhat intelligently.

You can still use using Wine BBO (bridge base online), Easybridge (dunno if it's free) or something similar using win32 ;)
These 2 works great using wine, I am use them very often.
