I am new to this Forum...
Just found out that ppc is going to be unnofficial.
Up to now I have only participated in maillists which I have just quit as what I have said seems to trigger nonsense..
I have also signed on to the ppc team,,, pending approval.
That said I Use dapper in my small business and have
found it necessary to compile a newer version of hplip to get my hp C3100 series AIO working completely
I'll put the .deb online somewhere ....haven't figured where yet...probably on my website.
I'll post more on this if there is any interest.

Hi there, No need for your package right now, but I'm beginning to think that Ubuntu PPC users need to unite in some way to prevent the support from fading away completely.

I agree to uniting etc. I am now part of the PowerPC team ..what that will entail or accomplish I'm not sure as the slate there is empty at the moment.
that MAY be the best starting point to keep ppc viable. I am not altogether happy with the numbers used to make that decision (making ppc unnofficial) I moved to ubuntu on ppc as a result of the change to wintel...looking ONLY at the LTS idea. So I am definitely part of the frop in numbers with edgy downloads, yet I fully intend to continue using Ubuntu ppc. And pc that matter. As a user I really was only intending to use LTS versions. I'm probably not alone in that respect.
Anyway I would think the more people that become part of the PPC Team even just for testing things, that will help...so I joined... Time will tell.

I'm very much considering trying Feisy Fawn, have any of you tried it yet?

Yes, I've been doing a bit of testing of Feisty. To be honest, there's not that many differences to Edgy on Xubuntu for the user. Whether this applies to Ubuntu and Kubuntu I do not know. However, with the apparent continued lack of official enthusiam for PPC, I'm not sure whether it's a worthwhile activity for much longer. :(

Hello all,
I can't claim to be actively involved in anyway in the PPC team. I am, however, an ubuntu user for something like a year now and really like using Linux on my desktop. Noting that I have no computer skills -- which is one of the reasons that this distribution has been so cool for me -- I agree that uniting would be a good idea and would be willing to help out in what ways I could.
